Since 1838
The farm was settled in 1838 by George Mitchell and his wife. They had 9 children. His son, David Mitchell, inherited the land on Mitchell Road.
The farm has been in the Mitchell family continuously for over 150 years, which makes it a sesquicentennial farm.
Over the years the farm has been used for sheep herding, cattle farming, and milk and crop production. This year Farmer Mitchell planted corn and soybeans along with gourds and PUMPKINS.
Farmer Glen Mitchell with his wife Candy run the farm today! They are very involved in the community and the Farm Bureau of Oakland County. Mitchell Farm offers a unique experience for visitors to see a working farm and have a great time in the Spring and the Fall!
